Chamonix Apartment - Getting there

By far the easiest way to get to Chamonix from the UK is by air. If you are not planning to hire a car, a pre booked transfer is the best option (suggestions given below, cost is approx 40 euros one way)

Traveling to Chamonix by air:
Geneva is the closest airport, just one hour on a fast, easy road.

easyJet now have flights out of Luton, Liverpool, Stanstead and Gatwick to Geneva. Prices start at £40 return. Check cheap flight deals here.

Chambery aiport is around 1.5 hours away. Snow Jet fly from UK to Chambery. 

British Airways and CrossAir have numerous flights to Geneva and it's worth checking their web sites for last minute online deals

Traveling to Chamonix by Car:

From the U.K.
There is direct Autoroute access to Chamonix. It's about 550 miles from Calais and the average drive time is 8-9 hours. Autoroute tolls are approximately EUR105 return.

Driving from Geneva Airport to Chamonix:
The route below avoids Geneva centre and is usually quicker though about 14km longer. The toll cost is the same as driving through Geneva city centre.

On leaving the airport join the main road, Route De Pré-Bois. Follow the green motorway signs to France along a straight road for about 1km.
Move into in centre right lane on arriving at a T-junction with traffic lights.
At the T-junction turn left onto the Route de Vernier.
Immediately move into the right lane (bus lane).
Drive about 150m, then take the slip road onto the motorway sign-posted France.
The E62-A1-E25 motorway takes you to the border (Bardonnex) with France.
Once in France follow the signs Chamonix Mont-Blanc
You will require a total of €4.70 for the two péage points (toll charges) for a typical car. All major credit cards are accepted 24/7
French motorway signs are blue whereas the Swiss ones are green.
Geneva airport to Chamonix via this route is about 100km.
Once in Chamonix continue on the N506 – Route Blanche until the roundabout before the Aiguille du Midi lift. Here turn left at the roundabout onto the Avenue de Courmayeur, after 100m turn left again at the roundabout onto the Rue de Pelerins and then left again after 100m into Chemin du Cry. The Chalet is located 153m along, third chalet on the left hand side.
